No Words Right Now

Oh shit. I got nicked big time. 83% for research methods.

Obviously I slacked.

I think I will reflect further soon.

Not much to say right now. This needs to sink in.

Chat with RW

So yesterday I had a nice talk with RW. A few points to highlight:

I need to open up myself more and allow others to paint with their paint brushes on my canvas.

Doing so will allow myself, as an individual, to be perceived three-dimensionally.

I woke up at 7 this morning to watch the England – Slovakia game. It’s 9:30 and feeling slightly sleepy. Go

Early Morning, Early Match

Wow I am up early today. It’s 4:26 AM and I’m up and about watching the Korean Korea – Portugal match. Go!

June 20th!

Well it’s Saturday, June the 20th.

I’ve completed the exam today!! Woohoo! I prompted celebrated this occasion by watching BBC Make a New Face, Life, Human Body, and Anatomy. That was fun. Don’t have to think about that course now.

Now. Have I completed the goals that I set off to create some time ago? Sigh… Moving forward.

Describing Data

Statistics are used to

  1. Describe data
  2. Make inferences about population
  • Once statistics are in, it is helpful to construct frequency distribution
  • There are different ways to graph data
  • Pie chart good for nominal data with limited number of scores
  • Bar graphs are used for nominal or ordinal data, with height of bar representing frequency (categorical)
  • Frequency polygon for internal and ratio-scale data
  • Histogram uses bars to display internal and ratio-scale data since scale values are continuous
    • Can see where or how people responded and can see outliers
  • Not how we present findings in psychology – avoid frequency distributions in lab reports
